Try AI!
This is probably one of the most common sentiments floating around the teacher’s lounge. Yet, students are using AI already, whether teachers or schools allow them to or not. So, rather than just give in, allowing students to face the most revolutionary technology of their generation without guidance, what might it look like to lean in, strategically, thoughtfully?
Here’s a ready-made assignment for any upper-middle or high school class, relevant across ANY subject area. It employs an active learning approach, as well as peer review and reflective practice. It gives students agency to choose their own topic, and requires them to remain critical thinkers throughout. It spotlights the process over the result, so that students can learn to apply these skills in novel situations going forward.
This lesson gets your students using and evaluating AI critically. If you use it with your class, we’d love to hear how it went.
