AI Literacy Workshops

Our AI Literacy courses are designed to meet educators where they are, and support a progression from foundational understanding to deep classroom integration. Across all three experiences, the focus remains the same: helping educators design learning that builds student agency – not dependence.

Whether your staff is just beginning to explore AI or ready to redesign instruction at a high level, we offer a clear, supported pathway forward.

AI-101

AI 101: AI Literacy for Educators

Foundations of AI in Education

Format: 1 × 90-minute session

Designed for educators and school leaders who are looking to build a strong, shared foundation in how to use AI safely and ethically. We also offer customized programs for students and parents.

Participants explore what AI is (and isn’t), how tools like large language models work, and what their rapid evolution means for teaching and learning. The session surfaces the real tensions educators are navigating: academic integrity, student thinking, and the role of AI in the classroom.

Will students learn to think with AI, or let it think for them?

Rather than offering simplistic answers, this experiential workshop helps educators develop a more nuanced lens for decision-making around AI.

AI 101 topics include:

  • What AI is (and isn’t)
  • How large language models work: capabilities and limitations
  • Where AI is embedded in the tools educators already use
  • Cognitive offloading vs. cognitive assistance vs. cognitive extension
  • Ethical and responsible use of AI
  • When AI supports learning, and when it undermines it
  • Practical AI workflows for teachers

Participants will leave with:

  • Greater confidence using AI tools
  • A shared language for discussing AI in their school
  • A clearer sense of how AI can support, or detract from, learning

AI-201

AI 201: AI Integration for Educators

From Awareness to Classroom Practice

Format: 2 × 90-minute sessions

This course moves educators from understanding into intentional classroom application.

Building on foundational knowledge, educators learn to integrate AI into instruction in ways that maintain rigor and elevate student thinking, not bypass it. The focus is on redesigning learning experiences so that AI, when used, becomes a tool for iteration, feedback, and extension.

If AI can do the task, we need to rethink the task.

Educators actively work on adapting their own lessons, assignments, or assessments throughout the experience.

AI 201 topics include:

  • Instructionally sound uses of AI in the classroom
  • Designing assignments that remain meaningful in an AI-rich environment
  • Shifting from traditional tasks to higher-value student work
  • Using AI to support teacher professional learning and pedagogical growth
  • Using AI as a scaffold for student-centered learning design
  • Establishing norms and expectations for student AI literacy
  • What students must develop that AI cannot generate

Participants will leave with:

  • Renewed energy and clarity for innovating teaching practice
  • Redesigned lesson materials for their own class
  • Increased confidence integrating AI without lowering expectations
  • Greater understanding on how to guide student use of AI
  • Practical, ready-to-use, AI-powered application to support ongoing PD

AI-301

AI 301: AI Mastery & Innovation

Designing for Agency and Real-World Impact

Format: 4 × 90-minute sessions

An advanced, flexible experience for schools ready to move beyond integration toward transformation.

In this course, educators redesign curriculum, assessment, and learning experiences to reflect what is now possible in the age of AI. The focus shifts from how to use AI to what learning can look like now that AI exists.

Can students do the work?’>>> ‘What work is worth doing?’

This course is customizable based on school or district priorities.

AI 301 possible focus areas include:

  • Educators co-designing custom AI-enhanced applications for their class or school
  • Reimagining curriculum and assessments in an AI-rich environment
  • Designing and running high-quality, AI-scaffolded project-based learning

Participants will leave with:

  • Redesigned units, projects, or assessment models
  • A clear vision for leading AI-enabled learning and systems-level implementation
  • The capacity to lead this work and coach others in their school or district
